Worship at Covenant OPC
Our Lord's Day services take place at 10am and 5pm. The one exception to this is that on the second Sunday of each month, the second service is at 1pm directly following our congregational fellowship lunch. (As such, there is no evening service on the second Sunday of each month.)
Our order of service follows a standard Reformed liturgy. We use the Trinity Hymnal in worship, along with the Psalter. We also sing a variety of contemporary Psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs.
Here is a copy of our bulletin in pdf format.
We use the English Standard Version (or ESV) of the Bible in our worship services (learn more about the ESV on Wikipedia).
The Psalter that we use is Praise Him: Psalm Selections for Singing (RPCNA, 1987). The Orthodox Presbyterian Church is currently developing a new Psalter which our congregation may consider in the future.
We also have Sunday School classes for all ages is at 11:45am, with separate classes for adults and children. (There is a time of fellowship and refreshments between the morning service and Sunday School.)
Worship is to be a joyful duty for all God's people, even the youngest, so parents are encouraged to keep children in both our worship services. However, some may need to take their children out of the worship service. There is a Crying Room with audio available just outside the sanctuary as well as a Nursery Room downstairs.
We are a very musical church and often on the second Sunday of the month (when we have the morning worship service followed by a fellowship lunch with the second service around 1pm) we will learn new hymns or sing favourites. Often we have a variety of instruments for the hymn sings.
