Our Worship

Our Worship

To worship God is the highest duty and privilege of mankind. Accordingly, our Lord’s Day worship is the high-point of our week, where we hear the voice of Christ speaking to us in his Word and respond with joyful worship by the power of the Holy Spirit. [ View Sample Bulletin ] Here are the basic building-blocks of our worship service:

Scripture

The Word of God is foundational to all that we do in worship and permeates every part of our service. Pew Bibles are available for use in the English Standard Version.

Prayer

Prayer is the life-breath of the church. Thus, corporate prayer is offered up by our pastor and elders on behalf of the congregation throughout each service, and individual prayer requests are taken in the evening service.

Preaching

Our pastor preaches sequentially through books of the Bible (i.e. consecutive expository preaching), explaining and applying unchanging truth to an ever-changing world.

Singing

We sing a mixture of traditional hymns, biblical psalms, and modern praise songs, accompanied by a small instrumental ensemble. We currently use the (red) Trinity Hymnal and the (brown) RPCNA Psalter.

Sacraments

As one portion of God’s covenant community, we celebrate the Lord’s Supper weekly and rejoice in the baptisms of new believers and their children.

Fellowship

In addition to our regular worship services, we gather for a potluck lunch on the last Sunday of every month, immediately followed by the second service (1:30 instead of 5pm). All are welcome!
